I will be giving an intensive snapshot about our department after mentioning some criteria that you should pay attention in selecting your future vocation.
It is well-known that vocation is a life time activity by which human being maintain their life with it, namely for earning money. For this reason, vocation obtains a degree of prospect and welfare moreover can bring opportunities to travel internationally, and develop skills to communicate with people from all over the world. In this context, “right job for right qualification” principle interplays an inevitable role in selecting your future vocation and career to be satisfied in degree of life quality and welfare.
The qualifications of the students of International Trade and Finance Department are both as bachelors or alumni are as follows:
First but not least, a student of International Trade and Finance Department are open-minded and ready to learn by employing innovative ideas throughout his/her life. Having ability to seize opportunities, to predict possible threats that can be faced with, to create innovative solution for the problems encountered, to be able to quantitatively evaluate the situation, to be able to communicate with people at least in two European languages, to be able to market the product or service he/she responsible for, to be able to make business journeys on behalf of his/her companies to international locations, and to be able to result oriented and entrepreneur.
In today’s global competitive environment, modern corporations are being highly affected by the dynamism and rapid developments in international trade and finance, and global economy. Hence, today’s successful organizations are looking for the new comers who are aware of the recent developments, able to analyze the changes, and integrate those analytic information with their accumulative knowledge that they have gained from their university education to make right and fast decisions both for their selves and for their organizations.
Recently, our country, having a rank of seventeenth largest economy in the world, increases its both export and import trade volumes, and welcomes foreign direct investments in larger scales day by day. Therefore, companies operating in our country will need much more qualified employees, i.e. knowledge workers who can monitor the recent developments analyze the results. At this point of view, there will be an increasing demand for qualified human capital especially at managerial positions in international trade and finance in the line with this dazzling development. Izmir as an economic centre in Aegean Region is third biggest city of Turkey in which the qualified executives to be demanded. Taking the economic potential of the city and its intensive participation in international trade into account, we anticipate that our students having the qualifications mentioned above will be successful candidates to this demand.
Founded in 2005 in Yasar University, Department of International Trade and Finance is one of the most favored Departments in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
The mission of the Department is to provide Turkish future business professionals and foreign tradesmen with the necessary academic foundation to excellence in their careers.
To better fulfill the Departments commitment to excellence in teaching and state research, the Department is dedicated to create an environment for the development new ideas and to strengthening students intellectual creativity, professionalism and close contacts with commercial corporations, SME’s and governmental institutions.
Department of International Trade and Finance furnishes the undergraduate students with three specialties:
1- International Business Economics and Trade,
2- International Finance (Banking and Investment)
3- International Economics and Law.
The other purposes International Trade and Finance Department wants to carry out are to teach at least two European languages (e.g. English and German) that are required in business life in the line with strengthening students’ knowledge in the area of Contemporary Business, Finance, Banking, and Investment Decisions.
Students in International Trade and Finance Department are required to complete 30- working days internship program. Internship program not just prepare our students to business life but also let the corporations introduce the innovative ideas to them. There is a high demand from the business environment for internship program to the department.

In short, students in the first two years take the courses on Economics, Business, Mathematics and Foundation courses in general. In last two years, students are able to select the relevant courses for the area they want to specialize. Some of these courses are Foreign Trade Management, International Economy, International Retail Management, Cost Accounting, International Marketing, Marketing Research, International Institutions, International Finance and Banking, Custom Issues and Regulations among others.
Students in International Trade and Finance Department have a possibility to study in Europe in the framework of Erasmus Student Exchange Program. Through this program, we encourage our students to attend the Program for the fact that the course schedule of partner universities are harmonious with the program we currently implement in International Trade and Finance Department.

To be executive or executive candidate in every size of national or international corporations.
To be executive or executive candidate in international trade firm, logistics firms and industrial firm which are concentrated in international business activities
To be specialist in Chamber of Commerce, Stock Exchanges, Exports Associations,
Merchant Associations
To be Specialist in export/import in SME
To be specialist or assistant specialist in national or international finance corporations in general, banks and insurance companies in particular.
